Yes, every group is free, full stop. We never sell your number, never fill the chat with spam, and never run ads inside a Toronto People Club group.

Can I join more than one group?

Definitely — most people land in two or three. Skate at 7am and network on Thursdays? Nothing stops you from being in both Skating & Winter Sports and Professionals Networking at once.

What's the group size? Won't it be spammy?

No group grows past roughly 250 people, and moderators pull anything promotional, crypto-related, or off-topic on sight. It stays a chat you'd actually want notifications from.

I just moved to Toronto. Worth joining?

It's basically built for that moment. Newcomers Social runs a weekly welcome dinner, coordinates airport pickups, and puts a dozen people in your corner before your first week is over.

I don't have WhatsApp. Another option?

It's genuinely how a lot of the city's international crowd coordinates everything from rides to doctor recommendations, so we'd recommend installing it. If that's truly not possible, reach out through the contact page instead.

Are these groups safe? Vetted?

Every request goes through a short screening — a photo, first name, hometown, and which group you're after — before anyone's added. Reports of scams or harassment get people removed fast. This runs like a community, not a listings site.

Long-term Toronto residents and travellers run the show here — the whole thing started as a single WhatsApp group back in 2021 before it grew into the ten we moderate today. Still a passion project, not a business.
